New Licensing Model: Bubble Complete

During our webinar on September 22, we announced a new licensing model. From January 1, 2027, Bubble Complete will be available to Red Cactus partners and distributors. With Bubble Complete, we are simplifying our licensing model while giving users more flexibility in how they want to use Bubble.

One license for Desktop and Cloud

Currently, our licensing model distinguishes between Bubble Desktop and Bubble Cloud. In addition, Bubble Cloud currently requires a minimum of five users. With the introduction of Bubble Complete, we are moving back to a single license within the new model. Administratively, there will no longer be a distinction between Bubble Desktop and Bubble Cloud. With a Bubble Complete license, users can choose their preferred deployment type. In the Webconfigurator, a simple checkbox can be used for each user to select whether Bubble Desktop or Bubble Cloud should be activated. This means there is no longer a need to choose a separate Desktop or Cloud license in advance. Bubble Complete provides access to both deployment types, with the checkbox in the Webconfigurator determining which option is activated for each user. The minimum requirement of five users for Bubble Cloud will also no longer apply within the Bubble Complete model. This means Bubble Cloud can also be used for smaller numbers of users.

Bubble Complete alongside the current licensing model

Bubble Complete will not replace the current licensing model but will be offered alongside it as an additional option. As a Red Cactus distributor or partner, you can choose whether to continue using the current licensing model or switch to Bubble Complete. It is a choice between the two models. Switching to Bubble Complete will not affect your existing customers. From the moment Bubble Complete is activated for your organization, new customers will be created under the new licensing model. Would you also like to move an existing customer to Bubble Complete? A migration button will become available, allowing existing customers to be migrated individually to the new model.

Do you use the Reseller API?

If you use our Reseller API to automatically create licenses and want to switch to Bubble Complete, please note that a small adjustment to your API integration will be required. What do you need to do?

Would you like to continue using the current licensing model? Then you do not need to take any action. The existing model will remain available.
