New in Bubble 5: Basic and Advanced Mode
by Techupdate on Aug 25, 2026, 10:50:51 AM
With the launch of Bubble 5, we have not only completely redesigned Bubble’s frontend and backend. We also went back to the drawing board with one important question: how can we make Bubble easier to use without compromising on its extensive capabilities?
Powerful capabilities, without the complexity
Over the years, Bubble has continued to grow. New features, configuration options and modules give partners the flexibility to tailor Bubble precisely to each customer’s needs. But that flexibility also has a downside. We regularly received feedback that while it is impressive how much you can configure in Bubble, the number of settings could sometimes feel overwhelming. With Bubble 5, we are changing that by introducing Basic and Advanced Mode.
Basic Mode: everything you need for a standard configuration
Basic Mode contains all the settings you need to set up and manage a standard Bubble configuration. This means you no longer have to navigate through settings that are not relevant to most configurations. The result is a cleaner and more intuitive configuration experience, making it easier to find what you need. For most users and configurations, Basic Mode will contain everything required.
Advanced Mode: when you need to go a step further
Want to tailor Bubble more specifically to a customer environment? Simply switch to Advanced Mode. Here you will find the more advanced configuration options, such as creating custom workflows with the Automations Module or changing settings that go beyond a standard configuration. None of the possibilities have disappeared. We have simply organised them in a more logical way. Simplicity where possible, advanced options where needed.
Available in Bubble Desktop and the Webconfigurator
Basic and Advanced Mode are available from Bubble 5 onwards in both the Bubble Desktop App and the Webconfigurator. Through the Webconfigurator, partners can manage configurations for both Bubble Desktop and Bubble Cloud. The new structure keeps everyday settings clear and accessible, while more advanced options remain available at the click of a button. With Bubble 5, we are not only making Bubble more modern, but above all, easier to work with.
