At Red Cactus, we continuously invest in the development of our platforms. As part of this commitment, we regularly introduce new features that further enhance usability, flexibility, and security. Today, we are pleased to announce two new additions to the login screen of Red Cactus applications.

Security as the Foundation

To access Red Cactus applications, we support several authentication methods. Users can sign in with a username and password combined with Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), or use Single Sign-On (SSO) through Microsoft, Google, or Apple. A few months ago, we introduced several additional security features to better protect our platforms and provide administrators with more options to make the right security choices. You can read more about those enhancements in this article. Today, we are adding two new features that bring additional convenience and flexibility to the login experience.

New: Your Preferred Single Sign-On Provider Is Remembered

Do you use Single Sign-On? Then we have good news. From now on, the login screen automatically remembers which Single Sign-On provider you used during your previous login. The next time you visit, your preferred provider will be displayed at the top of the list, allowing you to quickly select the correct option.

This preference is stored locally in your browser. If you use multiple authentication providers across different applications, you no longer need to remember which provider you use for Red Cactus applications. You can continue directly without unnecessary searching or selecting the wrong option.

If you clear your browser cookies or use a different browser or device, the preference will be rebuilt automatically. The result: faster logins, fewer mistakes, and a smoother user experience.

New: Support for External Identity Providers

The second new feature is a significant expansion of our authentication capabilities. In addition to Microsoft, Google, and Apple, we can now integrate external Identity Providers into the platform. These providers are activated at distributor or partner level and are only visible to the users they are intended for.

Adding a new Identity Provider is not an automated process. In addition to the necessary legal agreements, development work, and mandatory security measures, it must also be demonstrated that the authentication method is secure and reliable. This approach ensures that we continue to uphold the high security standards that Red Cactus is known for.

This new capability is particularly valuable for organizations that use their own authentication platform. Examples include large telecom providers or telephony platforms that do not rely on Microsoft, Google, or Apple for authentication.

For end users, this offers a major benefit: a single login for all systems. Users can continue working with their organization's familiar authentication method and do not need to manage additional accounts or passwords for Red Cactus applications. This leads to a better user experience, reduced administrative overhead, and higher adoption rates within organizations.
