After an extensive testing period, the time has come: Bubble Desktop Version 5 is now available through our Stable release channel (Version 5.1.4). This means our completely redesigned generation of Bubble Desktop is no longer only available to partners and users on our earlier release channels, but is now available to everyone.
Over the past period, Bubble Desktop Version 5 has been extensively tested. First with a selected group of partners through our Alpha channel, followed by a broader group of users. We have used the feedback from these different phases to further refine Version 5 and prepare it for our Stable release.
Bubble Desktop Version 4 users can now update directly to Version 5. Although Bubble Desktop has been completely rebuilt for Version 5, we deliberately made the transition as easy as possible. Updating works in exactly the same way as you are used to with previous Bubble Desktop updates. Version 5 is also fully backwards compatible. Existing configurations and integrations will continue to work, so there is no need to reconfigure anything and you can start using the new generation of Bubble Desktop straight away.
Although Version 5 is now available through the Stable release channel, development of course continues. Based on the first feedback, we have already added several improvements to our Beta release (5.2.1).
It is now possible to configure multiple hotkeys for Select to Dial and the SearchBar. This is particularly useful when other applications are already using certain hotkeys. You can now configure multiple keys or key combinations, ensuring that there is always a hotkey available that works within your environment.
We have also updated the Bubble icon in the system tray. The icon now clearly indicates whether a user is logged in or logged out. This makes Bubble's current status visible at a glance, without having to open the application first.
These improvements are available now through our Beta release channel and will also make their way to Stable at a later stage.
